Students at JHS have been turning to blogs as a creative outlet. Whether it be about fashion, make-up, video games, or just a place for them to express their thoughts and feelings, many students have turned to this as a way to show off what they are passionate about. Junior, Millie Prechtel focuses more on fashion and the newest trends in her blog, “Once Upon a Shoe”. Prechtel tells her readers where she buys the clothes she wears in each post and also reveals different ways they can be styled. “I started my blog as a way to share my passion with other people. The blog gives me a platform to be creative with my style and be myself,” said Prechtel. Creating this blog has opened other doors for her. She has partnered with smaller businesses to help promote her blog as well as representing their brand and giving her readers a discount code. Her sister, Caroline is Millie’s own “personal photographer.”
Every image that is featured on the blog has been taken by Caroline. This blog is a way for Millie, as well as Caroline to express themselves through things they are passionate about. “Fashion has always been a huge part of who I am and I am definitely going to pursue a career in this industry. I don’t know where it will take me, but that is the beauty of fashion,” expressed Prechtel.
