The world’s most dangerous marching band is back for the 2013 marching band season. The defending state champions are preparing for their state competition in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This weekend the Cats will be headed to Pike High School in Indianapolis. The following weekend will be state. This year the Marching wildcats have 165 band members. They have solos by Ellen Backer on the flute and Lindsey Welp on the soprano saxophone. This year’s show is Divine Messengers with pieces entitled Angels in the Architect and Water Night. This weekend up at Pike, the band will be up against rival bands such as Greenwood, North View, Center Grove, Floyd Central, and Concord. The band has one week until State competition. With time being crunched, every little thing counts. It is time for the members to step up the game and defend their title. In a sports based community, the band doesn’t see a lot of time in the spotlight. With a show that will make you stand and cheer, the Marching Cats would love support. So come to Lucas Oil Stadium on November 3rd to support the band and give them a good cheer. Back the Cats in the fight for another state title that is going to be brought home.
